Giles Adams

Today we would like to take the opportunity to welcome Giles Adams to our supplier list. Giles is the editor of the popular on-line magazine, What's on Somerset, however it is Giles talent as a Pianist that we are discussing today. As a Pianist, Giles adds that special atmosphere to your wedding day. We caught up with Giles earlier this week.

"There are many intricacies that blend together to deliver the perfect wedding; none can claim sole prize in your memories but each plays a subtle part in delivering the whole wedding atmosphere. And it is atmosphere that having live music delivers. I have been playing piano and organ since a teenager and I am lucky enough to have played at some beautiful and moving weddings. I am not there to perform a recital as such, more to add depth, feeling and that special experience that helps the day seem as magical as possible.

There is no sound quite like the tinkling of a piano as guests arrive, clutching their cards, hats and presents. Later, during the wedding breakfast, a good pianist can build excitement when needed, and edge back when a calmer period is more relevant.

Each wedding is unique, as is the style of music that you find so personal and special. It is this that gives me the most satisfaction performing for you both; knowing that music is a special part of your life and your wedding and being able to help you achieve your dreams."

Well Groom-ed

Let's not kid ourselves, we all know the big day is all about the bride; today however, we thought we would pay a little attention to the Groom. So what is the Groom actually expected to do?
Gone are the days where he would just be expected to "show up and smile" (although I suspect this might be all the involvement some Brides actually want from them!)

Here we take a look at six of the most important things for the lucky lads to remember before their big day.

POPPING THE QUESTION
Make it memorable and make sure you have the correct ring size!

CHOOSE AND DATE AND VENUE
Pick out a reception location in good time. Somewhere stunning like Maunsel House!

CHOOSE YOUR BEST MAN AND USHERS
Plan stag do! (Essential!)
Tuxes for the Groom, Best Man and Ushers.

THE RINGS
Go to the jeweller and get your fingers measured for your wedding bands.
Decide on inscriptions.
Order them.

BUY YOUR BRIDE A WEDDING GIFT
Make sure it's personal and memorable gift.

ON THE DAY
Turn up, deliver and awesome speech and enjoy the best day of your life!
