Alex and Damian

We are very pleased to have a guest blogger with us today. Rosie Windsor was the photographer for Alex and Damian's recent wedding here at Maunsel House. Please take a look at Rosie's website for more fantastic wedding photos.

"I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Damian's wedding at Maunsel House in September. A year before their big day we met at Maunsel House so we could have a look together at the rooms and the grounds. I was instantly happy. As I drove up to the house I could see from a photographer's perspective how lovely it would be to cover a wedding here. The grounds are really beautiful and I knew it would be no trouble to make really gorgeous images of the couple and their special day. They were hoping for an outdoor ceremony, which I was very excited by. It is always lovely to have natural light and freedom to move around to create the best angles and achieve stunning looking images.

The wedding day arrived and I was at the house all day with the couple. We started in the main part of the house to photograph the bride and bridesmaids getting ready. It was a lovely long morning spent in the company of the bridal party, documenting everything as it unfolded. Light was pouring in through the windows casting a lovely glow onto everything. It was a great space to photograph everyone enjoying the morning, taking special detail photos of all the bouquets and shoes and to capture the excitement as everything started to come together. The setting was very elegant, with hair and make-up being done in front of one of the many large windows in the room giving me the best opportunity to capture subtle moments of quiet and reflection.

The ceremony was beautiful and looked stunning outside. Guests could enjoy the scenery and atmosphere as the couple tied the knot. Photographing from all angles I was able to capture everything from a distance and let the wedding flow without interruption to everyone's contentment. The large lawn area hosted the family group photographs with a great background of uninterrupted greenery. I then sneaked the smiling couple away for some time alone and let them enjoy being together. In the surroundings of the house we achieved a set of relaxed, un-posed and delicately beautiful photographs.

The reception was outside under the veranda with the tables set to perfection. Using all of the bride's ideas and vision it brought together a unique time of enjoyment. Again it was really great for me to have the space to wonder unobtrusively through the guests to capture the scene and atmosphere of the evening as the sun went down behind the trees.

Maunsel House is a truly unique venue offering couples a great place to create memories that they will treasure forever and it was a pleasure to capture those memories for Alex and Damian."

Only just come across this - these are my wedding photos :-) Rosie, thank you so much for capturing our special day. It's been nearly a year now and I still look back on my photographs with find memories. Your photography was beautiful & you did an amazing job in capturing every single part of the day but in a subtle and unobtrusive way. I would thoroughly recommend Rosie and Maunsel for their wedding day.
